Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ Cup Rolled Oats
  • 2 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 2 Cup (500 ml) water
  • ¼ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • crushed black pepper or to taste
  • oil to cook the wraps

Instructions

  • Combine rolled oats and chia seeds in a bowl. Add water. Let them soak for 5 – 6 minutes.
  • Blend the soaked ingredients in a high speed blender till smooth and creamy. Do not add additional water while blending. After blending, season the batter, mix nicely, and let it rest.
  • Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. If your pan tends to stick, lightly wipe it with a tiny drop of oil using a paper towel.
  • Pour about ⅓ cup of batter into the center of the pan. Working quickly, use the back of a ladle or spoon in a gentle circular motion to spread the batter into a thin, even circle (around 6–7 inches wide).
  • Cook for 1.5 to 2 minutes on the first side. You’ll see the edges lift slightly and small bubbles form. Gently slide your spatula underneath and flip. Cook for another 1 minute on the second side until light golden spots appear.
  • Stuff and serve Oats Wrap they way you like.

Notes

The towel trick (Essential for pliability)
Transfer the hot wrap directly onto a plate and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. The trapped residual steam softens the outer crust, giving the wraps their soft, rollable texture.
Troubleshooting Tip: If your batter sits for a long time between wraps, it will thicken significantly as the chia continues to absorb liquid. Simply whisk in 1–2 tablespoons of water to return it to a pourable, crepe-like consistency.
This rest period of batter gives the chia seeds and oats time to absorb moisture and build elasticity.
