Masoor Dal

Pink or Red Lentil aka Masoor is the key ingredient. Rest, you need basic pantry staples to make this dal.

Ingredient

Rinse and soak masoor (pink lentil) in water for 15 minutes.

Step 1

In a pressure cooker, add the soaked dal,  tomato, green chilli, salt, spices, cloves, and water. 

Step 2

Pressure cook over low heat for 2 whistles or 10-15 minutes until the dal is cooked.

Step 3

Add cumin seeds,  garlic, and onion in hot ghee. Fry till the onion becomes light golden. 

Step 4

Pour this tempering (tadka) over the hot masoor dal. Add chopped coriander and lemon juice.

Step 5

Masoor Dal is ready to serve!
