Food Event – Wine Trail with Four Season’s (Indian Wine) at Fava, UB City
Lovely Saturday afternoon, bunch of lifestyle bloggers, delicate Mediterranean flavors and few bottles of good wine…. a perfect way to spend day!!
I was invited by Four Seasons for a Wine & Food Pairing session at Fava, UB City. Four Seasons is one of the premium and finest Indian Wine, they have wine perfect for each season. Amit Chavvan, the guy who shared his knowledge about wines with us, discussion began with using all three senses – eyes, nose and tongue to enjoy wine, the idea behind Four Season’s vineyard at Bagmati, Pune and then came the most important topic Wine and Food Pairing. Amit introduced us to the new theory of “Complimenting and Contrasting” for serving right wine with different variety of food, he finally broke my myth of “serving red wine with red meat and white wine with white meat”, infact during our discussion I realized some of the wines served will compliment Indian dishes so well!!
Then came the tasting part, the most awaited moment, we began with Four Seasons Sauvignon Blanc(White Wine), one sip and all I could think of summery afternoon with a glass of refreshing Sauvignon Blanc and a bowl of fresh fruits, then came a still Rosé wine, Blush Rose, my favorite and I gulped two glasses of it. Though there two more wine I tasted Four Seasons Viognier and Barrique Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Red Wine which is been aged for 9 months in French Oak Barrels) but I am not huge fan of wines aged in Oak Barrels.
After one glass of wine, the magic of Four Season began, we chit chatted about history of wine, techniques of growing grapes for wine, right temperature for serving wines, did couple of experiments to test acidity of wine, after each glass of wine we talked and we talked!!
I met some of the fellow bloggers, whom I am socially connected but never met them personally. I must thank Four Seasons for inviting me to your wine trail event, I really enjoyed the afternoon, wines and the food and the lovely company of high spirited bloggers.
Special thanks to Kamakshi for the invite and co ordinating the event.
