The United Sports Bar and Grill opened up in Phoenix Market City, Whitefield after great success in Mumbai and Pune and in my opinion Bangalore is in need of few more good Sports Bar as already market is flooded with Brew Pubs and MicroBreweries, Sports Bar is a great change to break the monotony. The United Sports Bar and Grill is a part of Mirah Hospitality Group, some of their well-renowned brands are Rajdhani, Cafe Mangii, MOD (Mad Over Donuts), Citrus Hotels and The United.
A huge television screen, a pool table, good music and an elaborate finger food and drinks menu, all these things distinguish a Sports Bar from any other regular bar. The United has them all, as the name suggests it is a place to have fun with your gang and enjoy the best of sports. Despite being in the mall premises, The United has the capacity to suffice 135 people at a time and the place comes alive during the sports season whether it is cricket, football or tennis, fans screams their lungs out in support of their favorite teams.
The interior of The United is thoughtfully done, with pool table on one side while on the other there is huge bar counter. Beside the bar counter, can see DJ playing music, two huge television screens are the USP of the place, whereas walls are done with collection of sports frames and posters, on one such wall t is called “Stick of Fame”, which displays the sticks of various sports featured on a single wall and creates a good photo up frame for the sports lovers. Talking about the most important aspect of any restaurant – Food, The United serves multi cuisine food, which includes Oriental, Mexican, Italian and Indian cuisines, to suit the taste buds of all kind of diners. From Mozzarella Cheese Sticks to Barbecue Pork Ribs, Chicken Shish, Tauk, Bruschetta, Sheek Kabab to Burgers and Pizza, they have it all on the menu. During the entire week, The United has an array of specials going on like Weekday Corporate International Lunch Buffet, Monday Buzz (Liquor starting at Rs 100), Tuesday Special Discount on food and Happy Hours (4pm – 8pm).
The United have quite a unique way of presenting food one of them is Fire Cracker Prawns in Action, where deep fried prawns are served with some kind of fire cracking which looks quite an attention seeker when it comes to your table as all the other guests start looking at your table, the other dish which has out of the box presentation is Bruschetta which is served over a mini aquarium though the idea is nice but to me and to my vegetarian friends it was creepy and uninviting rather than appetizing.

In the main course as well there are quite a filling portions, we ordered one Prawn Sizzler, Veg Sizzler, Goan Prawn Curry, Thai Red Curry and the portions were sufficient for two to share with delicious taste. You must be wandering in the whole review I have not discussed their drinks menu.Honestly I was not very much impressed with my mocktail and cocktail but yea all bottled alcohol tastes good and well served at The United. The United is a place for like-minded individuals to gather and enjoy their favorite sports, share a laugh and scream over winning, losing and enjoy the gourmet culinary fiesta around.
