Restaurant Review – The all new Monkey Bar at Indiranagar
Rustique interior, quirky posters on wall, bright and stylish glassware you might have guessed by now that I am talking about Monkey Bar, the famous Gastro pub which is well known among the food lovers for it’s delectable burgers and other unusual dishes in the menu, the same very Monkey Bar is now open in Indiranagar (Bangalore). This is the third outlet of Monkey Bar after first one in Bangalore (Ashok Nagar) and second one in Delhi (Vasant Kunj), both the outlets have been given equal amount of love by the foodies of both the cities and same love and affection is expected for the third outlet.
Once you enter Monkey Bar at Indiranagar the simple yet stylish interior will transport your soul and mind to the era of Gastro pubs in the late 20th century. Whether it is little chalkboard in the bar counter or the vintage scooter displayed on the wall, each and every element of interior compliments the Gastro pub theme of Monkey Bar.
This time Monkey Bar has not given chance to his Bangalore clientele to complain about the space, there are two spacious floors for sitting along with bar counters and a separate area for trying your hand at a game of pool and foosball, though I know this space will also be not sufficient seeing the past madness in Bangaloreans for Monkey Bar.
The beverages sections has some of the classic MOBAR specials like all-time favorite Maanga served in old Nutella Jars – which is my personal favorite and the idea of serving a cocktail in Nutella Jar has totally bowled me over. The other MOBAR Beverage Specials are Twisted Lemonade, Gin Jer Cosmo and Copper Monkey each served in an unusual mismatched glass, which will definitely make you praise their glassware collection.
Like beverage menu the food menu is equally exciting as well as interesting, chef has tastefully selected dishes from all across the globe and each dish has it’s own distinct appeal. Whether it is their signature sliders, Pierogies served in muffin tray, Pandi Curry with Pita or some Parsi delights like Berry Pulao and the Mutton Curry, each dish is been prepared and presented in truly Manu Chandra style – simple yet stylish.
It seems Monkey Bar fans as usual has more than one reason to explore this new Monkey Bar at Indiranagar and this time your favorite Monkey Bar is packed with whole new surprises. If you looking for some serious Gastronomy + Mixology than Monkey Bar – Indiranagr is your destination.
My personal favorites are Maanga (Cocktail), the Parsee Mutton Curry and Pot De Creme with Salted Caramel.
Warning: Don’t mess with the Death Sauce!!!!!
